Fundraising is Under Way

Wow! we have so many fundraising ideas. We are selling Orphan Patches, we did a craft show, we are going to be selling wooden roses, we are selling bracelets, postage stamps, t-shirts. We are collecting old cell phones and empty ink cartridges. We are taking in donations of items that can be resold (via Ebay/garage sale etc). We are planning to have a huge garage sale at our friends home Memorial Day Weekend. Needless to say things are pretty busy around here. Our son (14) is designing our website. It is definitely a learning experience for him. We are hoping to have a Millionaire's Evening as well. We are accepting paypal donations as well. We figured if we have 1000 people donate $30 each we have all the money we need to proceed with our adoption. Each drop in the bucket and eventually the bucket is full. Well you can check out our website is you would like and follow our progress. Thanks!

Our New Adoption Journey

Hello All,

We have decided to pursue another Ukrainian Adoption. We are starting to raise funds to hopefully adopt two sisters. We just feel that atleast two more children deserve a chance at a family. Our children are very excited about helping us with the fundrasing. Our son has been programming our website. He is so smart. Anastasiya has been a a true dream. She just loves having a family. She is very happy. Her english is coming along wonderfully. Well we need to raise a load of money - so here we go! Thanks for checking out our blog.

WE ARE HOME !!!

WE are so excited to be home and to have everything final. The kids all had a remarkable experience in Ukraine. They all have a feel for where their sister came from and can relate when she explains things. We have been very tired with the time change and jet lag. So we have been taking it easy for the last couple of days. We have been trying to unpack and go through the mail that has been piling up for 6 weeks. It will take a few days to get back into the swing of things. Take care.

Greetings from Ukraine

Hello All,

We made it to the Ukraine. The weather is very hot here (probably like home). The exception being that NO A/C. We have successfully made it through the SDA appointment and the meeting of the local govermental officials. Our papers are being processed and currently awaiting our court date. We are hopeful to go to court next week. Then we will have our 10 day wait period. We are going to the orphanage everyday. We love to see her everyday. She has been busy saying goodbye to her friends and taking lots of pictures of them. This is the first chance we have had to get a good internet connection. So we will blog again when we can. Take care everyone, we miss you all!

Hug and kisses, XOXO

Only one week left

WOW!! only one week before we leave. We are still working on my daughter 5th grade graduation's memory books and DVD. She isn't even going to be attending. We will be somewhere over the Atlantic Ocean on our way to Kiev at the same time of her graduation. My oldest daughter is completely packed. Her very small suitcase weighs in at 32 lbs. She is happy that it is less than 50lbs. We have been busy trying to find small-nice gifts for the children and adults we meet. We are taking a lot of wipes and hand sanitizer. We are taking some very small puzzles, matchbox cars, stickers and salt water taffy. We are taking our laptops and some DVD. Hubby has to bring his work laptop. We are SO excited and a little bit scared. We can not wait to see Anastasiya!! We miss her so. Not much time left. Yea!! We Will try to blog while we are in the Ukraine. We are not sure if we will have internet access. Wish us luck!

ONLY ONE MONTH LEFT !!!

Hello everyone,

We can't believe we only have one month before leave. We are very busy packing and unpacking and repacking. Brian has decided that we can only take one very small suitcase each. I think I can fit 3 pairs of socks and two pairs of underwear in mine. He keeps saying that we need to pack light but in the next breath he says but don't forget.... Thus why we are packing and unpacking. I think it is keeping us busy too. The waiting is the hardest part. The kids were going to take their Nintendo DS's but we have no way to charge them. I can't believe Nintendo does not make a charger that works in Ukraine. Well we will be playing a lot of "go fish" on the plane. It should be a very fun adventure. We are all very excited.

Thanks for checking our blog,

We will keep your posted,

Thanks,

Sandee
